Today I was at a long time client and he asked me to enter journal entries into his QuickBooks file that he had received from his CPA. I entered the entries and asked him if it was explained to him what they were and why they were being done. The answers were NO and NO. OK then, so I went over them step by step with him because I knew in the back of my mind he would not like the results of the entries. Guess what, I was right. The CPA and my client were not in sync when it came to year end entries and what my client wanted to achieve on his tax returns.

Asking questions and being involved and informed are critical ingredients to running your business in the manner you choose.

I take the time to find out what the boss wants to achieve, and I develop a plan of action to get there. This keeps all happy.
